The e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) looks to organise a "Smart Logistics Expo" on November 17-18 to showcase various products and services needed for improving the standard of logistic service in the country.
The association has requested the commerce ministry to take necessary steps regarding the issue.
It has also requested the commerce ministry to play a role in development of logistics policy and prosperity of this sector by making the programme a success.
It said that e-commerce and logistics services were linked. In view of the current needs and the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution, development of smart logistics services became necessary, a prerequisite for building a Smart Bangladesh.
The Smart Logistics Expo will have a combination of more than 30 sub-sectors. It will exhibit products and services of different sectors and an opportunity to exchange ideas.
Besides, rural and urban, conventional and digital, local and foreign stakeholders will be connected with it, ensuring the participation of entrepreneurs, consumers, workers and policy makers.
