Southeast Bank becomes first in Bangladesh to achieve ISO 9001:2015 for International Division

Recently, the International Division of Southeast Bank PLC has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 Certification by Bureau Veritas (Bangladesh) Pvt Ltd, a globally recognised certification body, for establishing a Quality Management System (QMS) in its operations. This is the first time that the International Division of a bank in Bangladesh has received this ISO certification. Previously, the Information Technology Division and Human Resources Division of the bank were also awarded ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 9001:2015, respectively, says a press release.
Mr Nuruddin Md Sadeque Hossain, Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC, received the certification from Mr Mahmudul Islam Khan, Senior Executive Business Development, Certification, Bureau Veritas (Bangladesh) Pvt Ltd. Deputy Managing Directors Mr Md Masum Uddin Khan and Mr Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, along with other senior officials of Southeast Bank and Iota Consulting BD, a local consulting partner for ISO certification, were also present on the occasion.
This certification is a recognition of the bank’s continuous commitment to efficiency, standards, and compliance in international trade operations, aligned with the globally recognised quality standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is noteworthy that Southeast Bank facilitates international trade through a strong foreign correspondent network spanning over 70 countries, with 623 RMAs (Relationship Management Applications) with around 300 foreign banks and Development Financial Institutions (DFIs).
