The country’s popular electronics brand ‘Vision’ organised ‘Pithanondo Utshab’ recently to uphold the Bengali pitha-puli culture among the urban people.
This year, ten contestants won the 'Pithanondo Prize-2025' by exhibiting their homemade pitha in the contest, according to a press release.
Participants attended the contest through registration and exhibited their pitha. The contestants exhibited different types of pitha including chitoi, dudh puli, khir kuli pitha, malpua, narkel pitha and chui pitha. Vision also arranged to deliver different types of pitha to the visitors at the event.
Actor Mir Sabbir, singer Luipa, actress Saira Akhtar, food blogger Sadia and five-star hotel chefs Ahmed Hossain and Daniel C Gomes conducted assessments in the contest as judges.
The judges announced ten winners based on taste, quality, and presentation.
The winners received various kitchen appliances including Vision's conversion oven, microwave oven, multi-blender, infrared cooker, sandwich maker, and kettle as prizes. Farhad Hossain Mamnoon, Chief Operating Officer of Vision Electronics, handed over the prizes to the winners as chief guest. AZM Obayadullah, head of marketing at Vision Electronics, Rezwanul Haque, brand manager; and Noor Mohammad Mamun, head of operation, among others, were present at the event.
