UCB celebrates Financial Literacy Day 2025

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB), one of the leading financial institutions in the country, has celebrated Financial Literacy Day 2025 under the theme ‘Financial Literacy Ensures a Secure Future,’ according to a press release.

To mark the occasion, a discussion session was organized on March 3, 2025, at the bank's head office. Speaking at the event, UCB’s Additional Managing Director, Nabil Mustafizur Rahman, stated, "Ensuring access to modern banking services for financially underserved individuals is the essence of financial inclusion. Under the guidance and strong leadership of Bangladesh Bank, UCB has been actively implementing financial inclusion initiatives."

He further highlighted UCB’s continuous efforts to bring financial services within the reach of the general public through school banking accounts, banking facilities for street children and working individuals, mobile banking, and agent banking services. The goal of financial inclusion is not just limited to money transfers but also to encourage savings among low-income individuals, promote digital transactions, and facilitate access to microloans and other banking services. In this regard, he urged all UCB employees to remain dedicated to their roles in advancing financial literacy.

The event was also attended by Senior Executive Vice President Md. Ridwanul Hoque, Executive Vice President Md. Sekandar-E-Azam, Syed Hasnain Mamun, and other senior officials of the bank.

The speakers emphasized, "UCB remains committed to serving the nation by promoting financial literacy and ensuring financial inclusion across the country."
