YoungShip Bangladesh launched

YoungShip Bangladesh has been launched as the 37th department of YoungShip International, the leading global networking and membership organisation for young professionals in the maritime sector.

The launching ceremony took place at the Bronze Room of Hotel Westin on Sunday, according to a press release.

Founded in 2004, in Bergen, Norway, YoungShip has a membership of over 5,000 young professionals within the age group of 18 to 40 years, across 37 locations worldwide.

Dedicated to fostering the growth and progression of talent within the maritime industry, it provides a dynamic platform for young professionals to connect, learn, and grow by holding insightful seminars, workshops, and networking events with fellow members and industry veterans, both locally and internationally, allowing members to stay informed about the latest industry trends and best practices.

President and Founder of YoungShip Bangladesh Tanjil Ahmed Ruhullah delivered an impassioned speech outlining the organisation's vision for YoungShip Bangladesh and its commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a culture of innovation and sustainability within the maritime industry, striving to make the industry greener, more inclusive, and more sustainable.

President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Bangladesh Syed Ershad Ahmed inaugurated the event as the chief guest along with dignitaries from the maritime sector, including Commodore Syed Ariful Islam, BN (Retd), former director general of the Department of Shipping, Bangladesh, Engr Obaidullah Ibne Bashir, engineer & ship surveyor & examiner at the Department of Shipping, and Halima Begum, associate professor at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU).
