Importance of drinking enough water

Published :

IN our childhood days when we were in school, we read in our school text books that water is life and man cannot survive without water. According to medical science, if we do not drink adequate water every day, it will create a number of health complications. A research has revealed that  most of our adult people do not drink sufficient water every day. They rather prefer to quench their thirst by drinking packed juice or carbohydrate drinks from the market whenever they feel thirsty. This is an unhealthy habit as there is no substitute for plain water. Our kidneys need water and not carbohydrates. Water removes toxics from our body and keeps it healthy. Drinking enough water should be on our priority list and we should make sure we keep our bodies well hydrated by taking adequate water every day.
Milk, green tea, natural juice are ideal sources of water. We should drink 2 to 3 litres of water every day and vary our intakes depending on the weather and the nature of our work. If we work outdoors we shall naturally need more water to fulfil our requirements. We should always remain alert and allow ourselves not to be dehydrated as it may prove fatal for the body.
