Nerve-wrecking

ON August 24, I was in my office in Lotus Kamal Tower-2 and was busy doing my office work. All of a sudden the building jolted with a heavy tremor. I thought somebody pushed me from behind. However, for a while I along with other colleagues of mine could realize that it was an earthquake. Panic gripped us. Some colleagues of mine rushed for safety and quickly moved downstairs. In the meantime, I could hear the screaming sound bellowing from adjacent buildings as people there hurriedly rushed for safe place downstairs.
Half an hour later I had to start for Dhaka University to attend my class and as I reached downstairs I saw some people still waiting there in front of the building with panicky looks on their faces.  Earthquake has been happening in Dhaka quite frequently and the government should strengthen its preparedness to face this calamity. The common people should also take necessary preparations to remain safe in case of a disastrous situation.
