Stray thoughts

WHEN one is an idle onlooker watching the ugly side of beautiful things, he or she instantly starts thinking about the design of the item. It is good to have an opinion about everything, because choices vary and conflicting ideas dominate every domain of human thought. That is where we take a pause and start rethinking about what we saw and decide the course of an action. 

A sense of fear crawls into our minds. Do all beautiful things have an ugly side too? Will it not destroy our trust in good things too? That is exactly what happened the other day as we were present in a seminar, when everyone was talking about many things happening in the country, complaining about the decisions that were taken and giving their opinion. They did not know why the things have happened, but they did know that whatever happened was wrong. They were talking about those things even after knowing that it will make no difference whatsoever if they talk about for hours.  

Everyone started to fear. And sadly they stared fearing without knowing what to fear about. Some started to fear about losing the good things they have had in their life. Some started to fear about losing their loved ones. But for some, trust losing trust on others turned out as the biggest fear. What else can we expect? Knowing the unknown was no longer fun, it was a curse. A curse that makes everyone fear you, every step you take, every word you utter. 

Fear is a strong word. It describes a lot by only 4 alphabets, 1 syllable. Fear about the impending situation breaks you down. And that was what crossed everybody's mind on that day. We knew we were giving in to some unfounded fear and letting ourselves down. Some among us accepted the reality and were adamant about overcoming the fear. They did not know how to overcome it, but they knew they had to. 

Whatever it is, we all knew what we lost. We lost the faith we had in ourselves.
