The Ministry of Construction (MoC) of Myanmar will build the first elevated express road in the country’s Yangon in December, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Saturday.

Under the management of the ministry, the 40.5-km express road, will link the Hantharwady International Airport project, Yangon-Mandalay highway project and Thilawa Special Economic Zone.

Earlier, the MoC and International Finance Corporation (IFC), a sister organisation of the World Bank, signed an advisory services agreement for the expressway toll road.

The project would reduce travelling hours to 20 minutes to reach the Yangon International Airport from downtown area in Yangon, reports Xinhua.
