Nepal imported 6,256 electric vehicles (EVs) during the first seven months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year, up 1.57 per cent over the same period of 2023-24.
The EVs were worth 14.75 billion rupees (1.05 billion US dollars) and a total of 9.08 billion rupees (64.7 million dollars) were collected in revenues, reports Xinhua citing the Department of Customs.
China-made EVs accounted for 76 per cent of the total imports, followed by India at 23 per cent, the department noted.
