Senior Chinese diplomat Wang Yi met a visiting US delegation in Beijing, calling on it to continue to help stabilise China-US relations.

Wang, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China  (CPC) Central Committee, met with Jacob Lew, chairman of the National Committee on US-China Relations (NCUSCR), Evan Greenberg, vice chair of the NCUSCR, and Stephen Orlins, president of the NCUSCR.

Noting the NCUSCR has long played a constructive role in promoting mutual understanding between the two peoples, Wang said under the current circumstances, it is hoped that the NCUSCR will continue to promote the stabilisation of China-US relations, promote friendly exchanges, and disseminate true stories of mutually beneficial cooperation.

According to Lew and other members of the delegation, US-China "decoupling" is not feasible, and the NCUSCR is committed to promoting frank  dialogue and exchanges between the two sides and moving US-China relations in a positive direction.
