Explosions were heard early on Friday near the US embassy in central Baghdad's Green Zone with alarm sirens sounding inside the building, local media reported.
It was unclear whether there was any damage, reports Xinhua citing the media.
According to IraqiNews.com, up to ten missiles were fired toward the Baghdad Green Zone, with several of them aimed at the US Embassy compound.
There have been unsubstantiated reports that Iranian proxies in Iraq fired the rocket missiles.
