Communication in Action is back

The much-anticipated event "Communic-ation in Action'' presented by CU-FBDA has made its grand return. On October 27 and 28, Chittagong University Finance Business and Debating Association is going to present the most awaited fifth season of its flagship programme, "Communication in Action - 5.0".

Communication in Action (CIA) is a national debate competition hosted by the Chittagong University Finance Business and Debating Association (CU-FBDA), a well-known club from Chittagong University. The tournament's fifth season will be held this year under the slogan “Where logic breaks boundaries”. To commemorate the undying passion for debate and the pursuit of logic, 36 teams and an excellent roster of adjudicators from over 40 well-known universities from all over the country, will gather for a two-day tournament in the format of a British Parliamentary debate in Chattogram. The tournament will feature both the categories: Novice and Open category, creating an inclusive approach that ensures a diverse range of talents and experiences, making the event vibrant and engaging for all.

The first day event will be conducted at Chittagong University's Faculty of Business Administration, where the tournament's preliminary round shall be concluded. The final day will be held in a renowned restaurant in Chattogram, to bring the competition to an exciting climax.

Since 2007, CU-FBDA has worked tirelessly to foster a progressive culture of debate among students and to develop the enthusiastic leaders of the future. The fifth season of Communication in Action (CIA-5.0) marks a significant stride towards achieving this goal.

Within the realm of competitive debates, CIA stands as a prestigious tournament, with CU FBDA continually aiming to surpass its prior accomplishments with each new season. The inauguration of CIA-4.0 in 2020 marked a groundbreaking moment for Chittagong University, as it hosted its first-ever international debate competition. FBDA has a history of remarkable achievements, excelling in both national and international debate tournaments, as well as business competitions. Notably, the club has proudly represented Chittagong University in esteemed events such as the World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC). Adding to its recent triumphs, FBDA emerged victorious at the AUW Inter Varsity Debate Championship 2023, solidifying its reputation as a powerhouse in the debating arena."
